I need clever names for titles.....

Blog Here it is another week almost gone, so I thought if I was going to do any posting that I had better get on it. This week has been filled with all kinds of things.  Work has been kinda crazy with some major moving going on.  Of course that makes for a busy day at work, and on top of that, I just got word that my job may be going away in September....so I have been trying to figure out what I should do.  I am pretty calm about this, as I do believe that God will provide one way or another.  He knows what is best for me and He knows this is something that has been on my mind and heart for awhile.  So I just have to leave it up to him to chose my route to take.

My kids have gotten home from their vacation to the ocean, and they are all back to work.  Tori is leaving tomorrow for cheer camp for four days.  This will be her last cheer camp.  She will start cheer tryouts the middle of August.  And then we are back to football games and school activities.  Since Tori has gotten her license it has made running around and doing errands much easier.  She starts school the end of August.  It's hard to believe that summer is coming to a end already.

Every morning when I drive to work, I notice that it is staying darker longer in the morning.  Usually by the time 5:45 rolled around it was light outside, but in the last several weeks, I have noticed that it is getting lighter later.  Fall is going to be here soon.

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  I am getting eager for cooler weather, I just don't like cold weather.  Can you ever please me?

Sitting here thinking about how time is flying by. Can't believe it's been as long as it has since I last posted. Not enough hours in the day. Please don't ask me why because quite honestly I am to tired to think. Seems like lately I just go through the motions? Do you ever do that? I feel like I am on autopilot. I do what I have to, and then everything else, just goes by the way side. As fast as time is going, summer will be over.

One thing that I love about the summer months is the yard sales. You can get some great little treasures for so little money. But with that being said, I am getting so excited about fall. It is my favorite season of the year and it will be here before we know it.

I have started getting my fall magazines in the mail and my head is reeling with decorating ideas. Already have my decorating list started. I do this every year so I can implement new ideas, I don't know about you, but I know me, if I don't write it down when I think about it, it will be lost in my sea of thoughts. I typically don't decorate for halloween, I decorate with a harvest theme instead, therefore I can enjoy it from September until Thanksgiving, although I do throw in a few halloween goodies close to the actual day. (Hey when you work full time, you doing good to decorate at all. :) )There is just something about the warms hues of the season, all the deep rich colors, reds, mustards, greens. In reality those are my favorite decorating colors, not just for fall.

Not only do I love the look of my house during this time of the year, but the smells of simmering hot soups and apple cider. Something about the dimmly lit rooms and brisk air outside and curling up with a quilt is appealing to me. Spending time in nature trapsing through pumpkin patchs, and farmers markets picking out gourds, and indian corn. Going to fall festivals and apple harvest where they are making homemade apple butter...mmmmmmm, yummy. Carmel apples, need I go on. Are you ready for fall too? I hope you will share with me some of your favorite things to do for fall and some decorating tips.

Fortunately I live in a wonderful area for these type of events. Every weekend there is so much to do, during that time of year. Michael and I are discussing heading to Vermont, Maine and Boston in October. What a perfect time of year to do that. Hopefully it will happen.

Anyway, enough of this for now, gotta scoot.

Hugs!

Past my bedtime!

moonI just looked at the clocked and realized I should have been in bed a hour ago....so not going to make a big post here.  I have been sitting here working on some pictures that I took several weeks ago, but haven't had time to crop or anything...so I worked on that tonight.  Maybe I will get a few posted soon.

It's been a very busy week with work as alot if going on there.  We are in the major of making some major moves so my days have consisted of packing boxes.  This weekend the work crew will come in and install all new desk/flippers and filing cabinets.  So when I go back to work on Monday I should have new 'digs'.

All my kids are sitting in Outer Banks tonight.  They are at the beach islandwith their father and his family.  Having a good time, the first several days they had to deal with the hurricane, but since then it has been quite nice for them.  Today we have dealt with alot of cloud_rainfrom this storm.  Driving home today from work, the rain was falling so fast that I couldn't get the wipers to go fast enough.  It was definitely a blinding rain.  I almost pulled over the shoulder and waited it out, but didn't.  Just went real real slow with flashers on.  Usually I am a wimp with driving through weather like that.  But I am trying to tackle my fear.

I have used this time of Tori' being away to use her "new" old car.  My car is in the shop so it has come in handy having hers to use during the process.  It simply amazes me how a car knows when you pay them off.  smile_regular  Last month I had it in the shop and it is back again.  Hoping that this might be the last time for awhile. Granted some of it is just routine maintenance and upkeep, that I can handle, but this other stuff....so glad Michael knows what they shop guys are talking about.

Well ladies, I really do need to get to bed...so going to close.  Will get around and visit soon.  Have a blessed rest of the week.

Hugs!

Time Marches On....

A real quick update on Betty. She is finally out of the hospital, but they sent her home with oxygen. But that is helping her feel better. She is still tired and sleeping alot but overall is feeling much better than she was. Not sure yet, if they will be able to resume her chemo this week or not. All Michael's children were there over this past weekend, and they helped out there grand dad get caught up on some things around there. Ron's primary focus is taking care of Betty's needs and so other things are let go. So I know they appreciated the extra help this weekend. Please keep Betty's health in your prayers and Ron as well.

Lately, life has consisted mostly of work, and on my weekend's off running errands. Over this past weekend I spent Saturday running around with my list and getting things and doing some shopping for me. I can't remember the last time I did that by myself. It is a rarity and it was nice. I also spent some time in a Antique Mall looking around. Found a little cabinet I fell in love with, and much to my surprise Michael went and got it for me yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. Anyhow, I brought it in the house and we put it in my bedroom. I am using it as bookshelf for now. If I think about it I will take some pictures of it. (Speaking of, I took some several weekends ago, and Michael finally offloaded them from the camera) I took some shots of some of the goodies I have bought while out on my antique and yard sale excursions.

While on Sunday, Michael had several things to do with redoing his new office. He has been looking for furniture to replace what is in there. He finally decided on some antiques instead of typical office furniture. So we hit the stores again on Sunday. He has decided he wants to furnish this office in things that he would like to put in our home office someday. Anyway, while I was scouring th e shops with him I walked away with a few small trinkets but nothing big. I did find a "boiler" that had been painted. Fell in love with it, so grabbed it.

When I have a few minutes at home I am reading...started the third book in the "Sisters of Holmes County" called "A Sister's Hope", by Wanda Brunstetter. I have enjoyed this little series. Once I am finished with it, I have another Beverly Lewis series I am going to read. "The SummerHill Secrets" Volume 1. Looking forward to her new book coming out in the fall. Whoopee!

As you can tell, nothing exciting going on with me. Same old stuff, just another day. I think one reason I haven't posted to much is there just hasn't been anything exciting to share with you. I will try to do better. I mainly just read and lurk right now.

Need to scoot, I hope you all have a blessed day.
Hugs!

Update on Betty and more

Good Morning all, hope this finds everyone having a great week so far. It's hard to believe that we are half way through the week already.

I wanted to give a little update on Betty. She is in the hospital for the next several days and then we will go from there. Apparently she has a blood clot in one of her lungs and has a infection in both.THe doctors are saying it isn't pneumonia. After the doctors visit yesterday, he informed her that it could take between 4-6 months for the clot to dissolve. Also she is on oxygen and she is hoping to get off of it soon, but we have no word on that. Apparently with the oxygen level higher now, she is eating better and feeling better. So not sure if the oxygen is going to be a mainstay for awhile. Our prayer is that she will continue to feel better so that she can resume her chemo treatments. Her spirits have been down for awhile now, so hoping that they will be better as well. I want to thank you all for praying for her, it truly means alot to Michael and I as well as his folks. They thank you for the prayers, as prayers are really all we have.

Other than work, not alot going on this week. Michael is swamped in his new job and so we don't see each other to much during the week, and with Tori gone all week, it makes my evenings very quite. I am enjoying the time to myself though. Mainly doing low key type stuff and getting rest.

I took some pictures over the weekend of some of my yard sale finds and projects that I am working on, so hoping I can get some uploaded to share with you in the next day or two. You wouldn't believe the mess I have sprawled out in my living room floor. I am still in that organizing mode, which I feel like I have been in all year. It is a slow process for me, but I know once it is done I never want it to get in the shape it was in ever again. It's one of those things that I have put off doing for years, I have tidbits all over the place that I have saved and cut out and printed out, etc and had never really put in a proper place. So that is what I am working on now. I am building binders and folders to house this information so that it is easy to access and retrieve when I need or want it. It's getting there, and it's a good feeling. Sometimes I only have 15 minutes to devote to the project so it is going to remain on my living room floor until it is done. Figure that way, I will keep at it.

I took the time to finally set up all my RSS feeds over the weekend. Loving that. Why I didn't do that sooner is beyond me. It is so easy to stay in the loop and not miss out on any new post. Granted I had to put my list on three different computers, because that is what I use on a normal basis. Is there a easier way? If so, not sure what it is.

I don't know about you, but I love to peek into others homes and get inspired to. If any of you ladies are like me, hop over to my homemaking blog as there are some wonderful links there for home decorating inspiration. Sometimes I just drool when I look at these homes. The women are so wonderful too. Let'em know that you found there link on my blog.

For now, going to close, might be back later. If not, have a super day and remember "To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world".

Hugs!

Please Pray for Betty!

Hi girls, I finally got around to visiting most of you tonight.  Seems like forever since I have been blog hopping.  Anyway, if I didn't get by, hopefully I will soon.  But I have to tell you that it's getting late so gotta get ready for bed,but before I head off to bed, I would like to ask for prayers for Michael's mom, Betty.  She was put in the hospital today and looks as though she will be there this week, and hopefully they will get to resume chemo next week.  She was suppose to do chemo today but her oxygen levels was way to low.  There are various things going on with her, but she seems to be giving up.  Her fight is gone.  So please keep her in prayer as well as the doctors and the family.  Will try to keep you updated.

Well since tonight is Monday, Tori had to go back over to her dads, she will be over there all week.  She usually comes home on Saturday night and goes back on Monday's.  but this is her weekend to be with her dad so I might not get to see her.   It makes for a long separation.

Ok..gotta scoot gotta get to bed before I turn into a pumpkin.

Have a blessed week.

Hugs to all

Busy Weekend Antiquing

july4Here it is time to get ready for another week after a long weekend.  I hope everyone had a great 4th of July.  Our weather here was just so-so.  It was cooler than normal 4th of July temperatures but it was a nice welcome from the HOT sticky day days we normally have this time of year.  But with the cooler temps came some nasty rain.  One thing is for certain we have had our share of it this year.  We  just fertilized the yard last week so all this rain is going to keep Michael busier than ever like he doesn't have enough to do already.

With the weather the way it was there I didn't really want to spend the weekend outside getting drenched so Michael and I opted to spend the days in Antiques Mall.  I had a chance to hope around to some that I don't get to on a regular bases.  Can you believe I didn't buy one thing, but it was great fun just wondering the isles and daydreaming.  Which is what I do alot of the time.  I did see several things that I would love to have,  But really haven't been in the mood to buy anything else, until I am happy with the homes that I find for all the other things that I have.  Make sense?  Hate to cut this thought short, but just saw the time. Will share more later on this.

It is a late hour and I really must get to sleep but wanted to say hi and wish you all a great week.  TTFN!
