Gettin ready
Just a short little note to get you caught up....things seem to be moving along and time is getting away from me. Where does all the time go?
Last week we closed on the house, so it is ours....however in the state of Kentucky(or at least here) you don't get your keys to your home at closing.....so we are still waiting. I'm living among boxes at the moment in our duplex. I'm hopeful that the sellers will be out of the house this weekend. They are relocating to another area therefore they have been there since closing, working on their new home. Movers are suppose to be at "our" house on Friday to move them out. Hoping we can start moving some of our belongings this weekend. Please say a little prayer. I'm getting so anxious. Our goal is to be in by next weekend totally.
We have our belongings stored in so many places. Seasonal and yard are at my mom's and dads. I know they will love getting their storage, garage and basement back. :) We have furniture and excess decorative
Yesterday I spent some down time working on "placement" list. You know that list of where you want things to go....Then I worked on a fall decorating list....because it feels like eons since I have been able to decorate my home for the seasons....most likely with working full time and doing this move I am biting off more than I can chew but I will give it my best shot. Hubby and I also have some list making going on for what needs to be done before we actually get into the house. As of now, he plans to rework my closet so that I can get more use out of it. It hasn't been updated in probably NEVER. I will have to get you some pictures of it. Also I want him to rework my pantry. Not sure if he will get to that before we move in but it is on the dreaded "to do" list. His big plans are to add built in shelves to the garage. Woo hoo...for all those seasonal crates. :) These are just a few, believe me there are many more. My hope is to share along the way. I hope you will join me.
Blessings,
Cindy

Time for action
Some days I feel so torn....not sure where I am going or what I should be doing. Do you have days like this? My heart and mind just rush around with endless thoughts and worry. And at the end of the day I find myself right where I was and not much to show for the day. Such a waste. Needless to say, I don't like days like that or the feelings that follow.
Time to redirect my focus....get it off self and onto others and something productive. Believe me, at times it is easier to tell yourself this than to actually do it, but I have faith that "this too shall pass".
After several weeks of confusion, I have made it my focus today to do certain things to get me back to a better and balanced place:
- Daily quiet time with my bible
- Prayer time (my prayer request list is long)
- List making and goal setting
- Spend time on something that makes me happy.
- Learn something new, ie how to use a new software, how to use a new application for my phone or computer, or a new craft.
Most times I find that I have these types of feelings when I am thrown out of my routine or off my daily schedule. I'm a creature of habit. ( And if you have read my last post, you know that I just experienced my daughters wedding.) Hence these feelings of confusion, mixed in with lots of "negative self talk". Please tell me that I am not the only one that has "negative self talk" from time to time.
I found a article that I archived for reading (over and over if needed) and it was needed today. Here is the post title and date of the post. Coincidence I don't think so. God's timing is always perfect.
How to Stop Negative Internal Chatter
1. Starve the stomach of self-pity.
If you don’t feed it, it will not grow. Circumstances are not ours to control and they may not even be ours to change, but they are ours to conquer.
2. Give thanks in everything.
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thess. 5:18I’m thankful that this verse uses the word “in.” Because there are things for which I struggle to be thankful. But I can be thankful in the circumstance because there is always something to be thankful for- for who God is if nothing else.
3. Pull those weeds out before they take root.
When I saturate my mind in Scripture, I find that the weeds aren’t even given a chance to take root. Then they dry up and wither.
4. Water the blooms.
Last Thursday night we had prayer meeting. Water.
Each day I’m doing my best to keep up with the Bible Reading Challenge (just caught up!!) The Word is water.
Sunday morning I heard God’s Word preached in church. Water.
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. Jn. 7:38Great tips Rachel. You can see her whole post on the topic here.

From Miss to Mrs..
The big day has come and gone...
Such busyness the last several months trying to get everything ready for my daughters big day. With my daughter living some 800 miles away she did most of the planning herself and she did a fabulous job. I am quite proud of her ability to pull all this together while keeping her cool.
There were many emotional days in between over the last several months. Lots of emotions for this momma. Lots of time C.R.Y.I.N.G. ….. Tori's big day was as beautiful as she was a bride.
The days before began with lots of pampering and enjoying the moment. From hair highlights to nails. To adding the finishing touches to wedding favors, and centerpieces. To rehearsal dinner, and family time with lots of laughs.
Her venue was on the picturesque Chesapeake Bay waterfront at the beautiful Anchor Inn. A perfect location for her as she is a beach bum at heart and has always wanted a wedding on the water. Her wedding colors Guava and Malibu added the perfect touch for this girls dream wedding. It reminded me of being the tropics. So Tori!
Here are a few snapshots of us getting ready.....
After make up and hair ( Mom and Daughter)
Sitting and waiting for the limo. She is/was beautiful.
Helping Tori get her necklace on.

Important dates
I think hubby and I took around 300+ pictures, but we haven’t had time to edit them. But this is a sneak preview. Part 2 to follow shortly.
Blessings,
Cindy

Daydreaming Again!
Good Morning! Oh how I wish we could really sit and talk over a cup of coffee or tea, or coke if that is your preference. But since that isn’t possible this is the next best thing.
Yesterday I spoke of praying and wanting a new home. Well I have been “pinning” lots of ideas for a new place. After moving as much as I have in 35+ years I kinda know what I would like to have in a home. Check out some of these ideas I have pinned.
I love barn doors!
Federal Grove History
In 1785, General Jonathan Clark (eldest brother to William Clark of the Lewis & Clark Expedition) was awarded 10,000 acres of land for his Revolutionary War service. The land grant had to be taken west of the Green River in Kentucky. His first stop was here at Federal Grove where his daughter, Eleanor and Son-in-law, Benjamin Temple would in 1805 establish Federal Grove, a 1,700 acre plantation. At the peak of Federal Grove in 1840, the farm had grown to over 2,000 acres, had 26 slaves and a sizeable wheat, corn, and livestock operation. At the death of Mr. Temple, Eleanor left Federal Grove and later sold the property to Captain Harrison Wood.Captain Wood re-named the settlement Woodville and established a general store, blacksmith shop and one room schoolhouse on the site of current Federal Grove in the late 1850’s. As the Civil War unfolded, it is said that Captain Wood fled for Texas in fear of his life. Although there were never any battles near Federal Grove, it was a major thoroughfare for traveling soldiers of both Union and Confederate forces. As they traveled they simply took anything they needed along the way.
In 1871 a young gentleman farmer by the name of James Monroe Hall purchased Federal Grove and the property remained in the Hall family until 1991.

WE Did it
Finally! My sweet hubby has had a dream for a long time and that is to own his own Insurance Agency, and after much patience and prayers, God opened the door and now it is a reality.
Last Friday we took possession of a existing agency as the new owners. This has been a long process. It took us literally years to find a agency for sale where we wanted to be. Close to home so we could be near my family. But we feel that God opened the door and to such a perfect place. We find that God answers our prayers when they are persistent and believe he will.
This has been a long time coming, and I haven’t felt at liberty to speak about it until now. After many attempts and let downs, we had grown weary of it ever happening. However there was always a little voice that keep urging me to not give up. So thankful that I listen to that little voice. So back in October when we felt that this venture was possible, we were asking God’s direction. Our biggest prayer was that this was God’s will for us.
So I am embarking on a new venture too, as well as my son (see yesterdays post). We are in the process of relocating our office space, per prior arrangements to the sell. We have signed a lease on a new space and will start the moving process in a couple of weeks. We still have things to get set up in the new space, phone, internet, etc. . I’m excited about our new space, it has a large reception area(my space) and several offices. At the moment we will only be using 2 of the 6 offices.
Hope to share some photos with you as things start taking shape.
The last several years have been a plan and wait state, and now we are ready to see what God has in store for us. We have also been praying about a new home. Unfortunately with the move back to Kentucky in ‘12, we have been renting a small duplex and all of our household goods are in storage. We continue to pray that God will find us the right house at the right time. I’ll be honest and admit that at times it has been hard to not just “do” something, but I know and believe that God’s plans are far better than anything I could ever put together so the waiting game continues. God’s timing is perfect.
So as you can see, I’ve had many things going on around here since relocating back home. Hence the lack of blogging. I really didn’t feel I had anything to share, I figured you would get really bored with more “waiting”post.
Blessings

It’s a bittersweet day
This morning my youngest son embarks on a new adventure. He is swearing into the U S Navy, and leaves for boot camp in the morning. As proud as I am of his decision to serve our country, I hate to see him go. He has been planning this for months now, and now that the time has come I still am not ready for him to leave.
This past weekend my sister, mom and I drove to Maryland for his surprise going away party. It was so much fun and so many family and friends turned out in support of him. He really is a special kind of guy. Such a giving, caring and loving spirit. He blesses me.
The party was such a surprise for him, but seeing that we drove up (12 hours) for it was a bigger surprise. I am blessed that I got the opportunity to share in this event with him.
I had such a great time with all my kids. Being so far away I miss so much, but I cherish each time I see them.
During my visit I got to spend some great one on one time with my grandson Kyle. Oh how precious he is. He is 15 months and he really has taken on a personality all his own. He is trying so hard to talk and if his eyes could talk I wonder what he would say. He has such expressive eyes when he gets excited. My nephew who is 5 went up with us, and Kyle did his best to stay up with him. His little legs were practically running to stay up with him. Oh so cute. Each time I look at him, I see my children all over again.
So today, as I sit here, I reflect on my blessings, God has been so good in his provisions for me and my family. Today I will continue to put my kids in God’s hands, and be reminded of his promise.
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Could you all remember my son in your prayers as he embarks on this new journey?
Blessings,
Cindy

Just stinkin’ Thinkin’
Seems I ask myself this on a daily basis anymore. If you have been around the blog world for awhile you know how uncommitted I have been to blogging. Life has just taken a whole different look since moving back to Kentucky. I moved back to my hometown about 2 years ago after being gone for 30 years. Can you say BIG ADJUSTMENT? It has been, but it has been a great move back. The only upsetting fact is my grown children and grandson are still in Maryland. However God has provided me the opportunity to see them about 3 months or so since the move. Usually my mom and I travel up there ever three months unless they are coming home.
It’s a 12 hour drive, but mom and I take our time and stop every few hours to stretch our legs and take the much needed potty breaks.
My dear daughter and I Skype quite frequently so I can watch my grandson Kyle (15 months)grow up. Sometimes it is hard to see him and know that I can’t get to him, but I do love having the option as to not. Sometimes technology amazes me.
Kyle at 1 year. Do they come any cuter? He is such a joy. I love him so much, as I do these little munchkins.
Wesley, Tori, Derek (Christmas 2013)
I am so happy with the advances in most of the technology world. I remember about 100 years ago(okay not really 100) but thirty years ago living in Rota Spain and wishing I could call home. One phone call for about a hour talk time would cost around $300. Something that my parents and in-laws and us would take turns doing. But now we have all kinds of internet options to stay in contact with family and friends that are half way around the world. Which I am so happy for, since my youngest son is getting ready to join the Navy. He leaves for boot camp on March 4. He is following in his father’s footsteps.
All the technologies got me to thinking…..which technology or app via it be for the computer, phone, etc. can you not see yourself living without now? Please share.
Blessings,
Cindy

Bible Study Wednesday
Good Morning! This morning I am off to bible study. After about two years of not participating in a real live bible study it is awesome to be back in God’s word with other women. It’s a great group of women all coming together from 7or 8 different dominations. We are in the 5th week of a 7 week study called “Missing Pieces” by Jennifer Rothschild. Oh is it so good.
Some things you will learn how too:
- Experience unexpected peace in spite of unexpected heartache
- Move forward when you feel stuck in your circumstances
- Strengthen your faith when you feel beat down by life
- Gain stability when tidal waves of emotion hit
- Trust God more than your feelings
Over the years I have been involved with many bible studies. Lately I have been doing online studies (I’ll share a couple of great sources in the future) which I have loved, but there is just something about going and fellowshipping (is that a word) with other like minded women. I love spending time learning about our Heavenly Father. He has so much to teach us if we will just stay teachable.
Proverbs 13:18 - Poverty and shame [shall be to] him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
Proverbs 9:9-Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
Blessings,
Cindy

So excited today
Oh happy day! I know when I share why this is such a happy day you are going to think I have lost my mind. I am so happy over this:
That’s right. I hate doing the floors. Which I am sure you all can relate too. Shake your head and agree with me here, okay. Normally I have to get out my bucket of water and gloves and rag and get down on my hands and knees to do my floors. Otherwise they streak and look about half way done. Not a pretty picture. Believe me I have tried all the gadgets and gizmos out there. My sweet hubby came home with this last week after his excursions to Sam’s and my first though was, I wish it would work but I know it won’t. However I was surprised when I did my floors this morning. They looked great, just like I had scooted all over my floor to get that look. So for me it was a happy day and now I don’t think I will dread doing the floor as often.
This is what Rubbermaid has to say about this:
Save more and waste less with the Rubbermaid Reveal™ Spray Mop. The thick microfiber pad is washable and reusable so that you never have to run to the store for refills when you’re getting ready to clean. Simply fill the bottle with hot water and two teaspoons of your favorite cleaning solution and you’re ready to mop. The Reveal™ Spray Mop also features a non-scratch scrubbing pad to loosen stubborn spots.
- Safe to use on all floor types including hardwood, vinyl, laminate and tile?
- 22 oz. refillable bottle allows you to mix your own solution
- Non-scratch scrubber for stubborn spots
- Microfiber pads are reusable and machine washable up to 100 times
- Non-battery operated spray trigger allows you to dispense as much or as little solution as you need to clean your floor
- Constructed with durable, yet lightweight material
I love that it has a refillable bottle so I can use my own homemade solution and it comes with two microfiber pads, so while one is in the wash you have another one. Someone listened finally and created a spray mop that works.
This morning was a very productive morning, I got my floors moped, laundry done, bedroom cleaned and picked up, dishwasher loaded and ran and also had time to finish my bible study. Love days like that.
I hope you all have had a great day.
Blessings,
Cindy

Happy Sunday
Good Morning!
Woke up this morning and I’m sitting here and sipping my coffee. Looking out the window at the beautiful blue sky and feeling blessed for this wonderful pretty day. Temps are pleasant outside, not that bone freezing cold temps we have been having. Looking forward to spring and seeing the blooms appearing after this harsh cold winter, and listening to the birds singing again. I love the promise that Spring gives.
Last night we had a great night out. Our church had a friendship banquet and such a wonderful time out spent with our church family. Lots of great food and played some games. Yesterday I also had the opportunity to meet up with some girl friends from high school, It is such a great time when we get together. We went to visit a classmate that is in the hospital after a terrible scare with blood clots in the heart. By all the doctors indications we are blessed he is still with us. God has really been answering our prayers for him. After the visit, us girls ventured over the the local Mexican restaurant and continued our visit and going down memory lane. Catching up on each others lives. Isn’t it awesome when we can take time out of our everyday lives and reconnect with those that we love. So thankful for the time spent with the “girls” yesterday.
I have a lot going on this upcoming week. Hubby and I are in the process of buying our own business, and the take over is scheduled for March 1. So we have been busy finding a new location for the business (it’s a existing business in town) acquiring furniture and needs for the new office. Plus I have not worked outside the home since Oct. and this week I will start back . But only going into the office a few days this week to get acclimated to the new routine as well as help with some of the business needs before the move/transition. (More on all this later once the move is complete)
I don’t plan to make a post on Sundays, unless it is one that I have scheduled because that is my church and family day. However I thought I would just get online and post a little note.
I hope you have a fabulous and blessed Sunday.
Blessings,
Cindy

At it again
Don’t faint, I know you want too. I am trying to do this again. Real life has been busy and eventful. Just wanted to say that I have really missed the blogging world and lately so much has been going on that I would have loved to have been posting but unfortunately couldn’t find the kind of time I needed. So as I embark on some new adventures this year decided I would try this once again to share some of the fun along the way.
Keeping this short, but be back soon.
Love and blessings to you all.
Blessings,
Cindy
