I can't believe it. I finally have a nephew. My sister, who is several years younger than I am, has been trying to adopt for several years.
She found out the end of August that she was going to become a mother and it was going to happen soon. And it did. Long story, and a bit disturbing but my little nephew Caleb came into the world on September 11, at 11:19 PM, 7 lbs, 9oz, 20 inches long and seems to be perfect even though he had a traumatic entrance into this world. Due to his circumstances he has had to remain in the hospital and be monitored, and initially my sister was told that she would get to bring him home on Monday, but the doctors came in last night and said he was doing exceptional so they will discharge him today. My sister is so pleased, and can't wait to get her little bundle of joy home. Please keep my sister in your prayers and this is a new venture for her as well as baby Caleb. I just praise God that he has taken care of them through all this.
Wow, what a productive Saturday I had. I puttered around in the house all morning, just doing the basic picking up and cleaning up. Loads of laundry was washed, dried and folded. Just need to put it away. Michael also worked on framing our bedroom windows, so after he finished those, we moved everything out of our bedroom and cleaned the baseboards, dusted, and vacuumed and then put everything back. With the exception of our bed. We bought a new bed, a big brushed brass bed at a auction last weekend. It looks so nice in there. Once I get the laundry off the bed, I will have to take some pics. I still need to get some new rods for my curtains, but Michael would like to replace those because he isn't crazy about the ones that I have now. I like them, but he doesn't.
I also quite abit of web work to do and now I think I am all caught up...well at least for now, but I realized I really should organize my computer files. It's rather confusing because I use two computers, and so I have to do it double.
Yesterday we watched Hurricane Ike's damage. All Michael's family live in the suburb of Houston in Friendswood. Other than losing their power they made out fine. Praise God! I am still a bit concerned for his folks though, as his mother is on oxygen and they have enough fuel for several more days to run her oxygen. After that, not sure what will happen.
Needless to say it was a busy day, couldn't wait to soak in the tub and hit the bed. Just so I could get up and start again today.
Let's see today is going to be full of football. Wesley has several friends coming over and they plan to watch all the games and grill out. Wesley's kind of tailgating.
My chore list for today:
- clean kids bath
- mow lawn (Michael's doing this)
- get garage back in order (Michael made a big mess yesterday while working on the framing)
- Read
- Nap (girls gotta do what a girl's gotta do)
- Finish decorating for fall, several more boxes in the garage
So as you can see, I should get a move on. Hope you have a blessed day.
Philippians 2:1-2“[Imitating Christ's Humility] If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.”

ReplyDeleteCongrats on becoming an Aunt! I just know you will be the best, & spoil him! How wonderful that he gets to come home today! I will never forget that feeling of bringing a new one into our home - no feeling like it! I am thrilled for your sister.
Hope you have a blessed week Cindy. I put up the new siggies early today. I am going to post a new one every day this week, in celebration of Fall. Hugs!
Sounds like a busy day- I seem to be kind of all or nothing- either I manage to get a TON done, or I am spinning my wheels all day and not really accomplishing anything!
