HomeKeepers Journal- August 24

I decided to participate in a meme called  “A HomeKeeper’s Journal” Please visit Sylvia at Christian HomeKeeper Network, we are discussing Fall today.  Fall is my favorite season of the year and one that I can’t wait to get here, every single year.

Autumn in my kitchen means ……. lots of baking both pies and breads, and  making soups.  I love making soups for those cool nights, they just say warmth.Lots of hot apple cider.  Also I will be planning our holiday get togethers and the menus.

Autumn in my home brings …….out all the fall decorations. It brings in the more subdue colors with the warm golds, browns, and reds. It brings out all the blankets for snuggling under while lounging around, whether reading or watching tv.

I bring Autumn indoors by ……..bringing nature indoors, branches, pinecones, leaves, and nuts are always displayed around the house.

A few favorite Autumn activities for my family are …….going to the harvest festivals, going to watch them make homemade apple butter over the open fire, visiting the local pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins and gourds for the season.

Two favorite Autumn recipes are …….my pumpkin cake, so moist and delicious, Deep Dish apple pie with chedder cheese slices on the side.

This Autumn I would like to ………entertain more, and share the many blessings that I have been given.  Show hospitality with a gift of grace, and maybe have a little treat for our guest to take home as a wonderful reminder of our time shared.

  1. Those were really good answers about simplicity, Cindy. With all the purging we had to do with the new floors, I felt so much better with less "stuff!" I tend to take on a lot at once, too, and when I feel overwhelmed, I make a list and tackle things one at a time. That works for me. Re the vacuuum- no, it's for hard floor surfaces not carpeting. 2. I'd have to sit all day thinking up answers like these to questions like this! Loved reading yours but I'm terrible at putting my thoughts in to words like this... hence the reason I ramble on at my site and don't do many memes ;) How do you say that word anyway?
