and today I want to share it with you. If you have been keeping up with me here, you know for the most part for a while now I have been struggling with much. Either through post that I have written or lack of written post.
I feel as though my whole world has been under attack lately. Now I know this isn’t true, but the feeling remains the same. When times are like these, I just want to cling to God and his word and promises, but for some reason, I have been struggling with that too. Maybe because sometimes, I just don’t get it. But let me tell you a about a little find I have found. It’s a book written by Lysa Terkeurst called “Becoming More than a good bible study girl”. Wow…I have just started reading it and it’s wonderful and answers so many of my questions about my relationship with God.
Take a peek at one of her videos
Just in the first part of the book “In My Heart”, she talks about….
- Trying to Be Good Enough
- Flitting To and Fro
- When I Feel like I Don’t Measure Up
If these are topics that you can relate too, then you have to read it. With each page I turn I am eager for her help in getting out of this “rut”. The rut of desiring and knowing God more intimately, and not knowing how to get there. If you feel this way, then perhaps this would be a good read for you too.
If any of you have read it, I would love to know if and how it affected your “knowing God” better.
Ok…off to have my quiet time now.
Oh BTW…
Courtney of Women Living Well, is hosting this challenge for wives. Every Monday, June 7 - August 9, Courtney will be sharing biblical principles about how to be the woman your man needs. Mark your calendars and join me in becoming the women our husbands need.
Hi Cindy!! I hope the book helps you. I had quite a year this past year at work. God really protected me, but at the same time there was a lot going on I didn't know about. I feel like looking back on it there was a spiritual battle going on. I cannot really discuss things that happen at the preschool, but let's just say God got the victory and things are much better now. This of course did not involve the children. It was another staff. Anyway, God will help you through whatever you are going through. I will be praying for you. ((BIG HUGS))!!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI have not read this book but will try to get it from Amazon.
I have gone through so much last year and still again this year too-trial after trial. I can say that I can see the Lord's mighty hand at work and He has so protected me. I will one day blog my story but how very thankful I am!! I have been in this valley for so long and praying and trusting Him to get me through my trials. I know I am going to take a look back someday and I will be so very thankful!!
God is good and He is faithful and He will get you through all of your trials. He has done such a work in my life. I have been on a painful path but I am glad!
Praying for you Cindy.
Blessings and hugs.
Hi Cindy - I think most of us can relate to the feelings that you have right now. We've all had them at one time or another, & it's painful to be 'pruned', but so needful. God is so faithful & He will bring you forth as gold from the fire. I am praying for you! I am so interested in that book, & I'm going to see if it's available for my Kindle. I love you Cindy. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand. I will go and check out the book. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy! I'm glad you found a book that speaks to you. :) Very sorry to hear about the loss of Mocha. We've all been there and know how hard it is but you should really take comfort in the fact that you gave Mocha a great life and even more special that Mocha was a rescue. (((Big Hugz)))
